In short: Little Light has no accounts, asks for no email, shows no ads and does not track you. Unless you turn the social features on yourself, the app never contacts a server.
Nothing is sent while the network is off
Friends, the gallery and the leaderboards are off by default. While they are off the game talks to no server at all; your levels, suns and settings live only on your phone.
What is sent if you turn them on
When you share your friend code, add a friend, or send a level to the gallery, the following reaches our server:
- The nickname you chose, your rank, and your card and title preferences
- How many levels you have finished, the suns you have collected, your endless and blitz scores, your daily streak
- The board code of any level you publish to the gallery
- The levels you like
- A random 24-character id the app generates for itself on first launch
If you publish a level, that level's code and your nickname become publicly visible.
What we never collect
No email address, phone number, real name, contact list, location, photos, device identifier (IDFA/IDFV) or advertising id is requested or sent. The game contains no ad network, no analytics tool and no third-party libraries. No data is ever sold or shared with anyone.
Why the id is random
That number is the only key to a player's friend data, so it is generated to be unguessable. The server deliberately has no "list all players" endpoint; a player's data can only be fetched by knowing their id. Leaderboards never return ids.
Objectionable content
Every level in the gallery and every name on the leaderboards carries a flag icon. What you report disappears from your own lists immediately; if enough different people report the same thing, it drops off everyone's. If you did it by mistake, Settings → "undo my blocks" reverses it.
Storage and deletion
The data above is kept on our own server hosted in Germany and is used only to run the game's social features. Turning the network off in Settings stops further sharing. To have your records deleted entirely, write to us at the address below; your id, your statistics and any levels you published will be removed from the server.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
